A respiratory infection that sent Elton John to the hospital forced the 65-year-old musician to cancel four Las Vegas concerts.
The “Rocket Man” singer checked into Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Wednesday morning and doctors advised seven days of rest with no concert performances, Las Vegas’ KLAS-TV reported.
But John doesn’t think it’s going to be a long, long time before he’s back: Only concerts between Thursday and Monday have been canceled.
“It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at the Colosseum,” John told TMZ. “I love performing the show and I will be thrilled when we return to the Colosseum in October to complete the 11 concerts.”
John added, “All I can say to the fans is, ‘Sorry I can’t be with you.’”
Caesars Palace, where John has been performing, announced that the singer would return to its Colosseum theater later this year.
